Privacy Policy

Effective October 6, 2026

Road Trip Copilot is an app for iPhone made by Rakaworks. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version: Your trips, your profile and your location stay on your phone. There is no account, and the app has no server that receives or stores your data.

What stays on your device

Trip plans, stops, preferences (likes, cuisines, pace), notification schedule and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

Location

If you allow it, the app reads your location while it is open to update your timeline, check you in at stops and tell you when to leave. Your position is used on the phone and then discarded. It is never sent to the developer. You can use manual check-in instead and never grant location access.

Services the app contacts

To plan a trip, the app asks outside services for routes, places, weather and photos. Each request carries only what is needed for that lookup, usually a place name or coordinates, and no identifier for you.

Each provider handles requests under its own privacy policy, as with any map or weather app.

Notifications

Leave-by reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. They are not sent through a server.

Feedback

If you tap Send feedback, the app opens your Mail app with a draft that includes the app version, iOS version and a short summary of your current trip. Nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself.

What the app does not do

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Guidance only

Drone airspace verdicts, trail information and camera settings are guidance. They are not legal authorization or professional advice.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions: [email protected]
